UBTech Debuts Cruzr Y1 Wheeled Industrial Humanoid Robot
UBTech has globally debuted the Cruzr Y1, a wheeled industrial humanoid robot designed for flexible loading and sorting tasks. Powered by domestic Digua chips and a Vision Language Action algorithm, it targets core manufacturing pain points.

UBTech has globally debuted its new Cruzr Y1 wheeled industrial humanoid robot, a machine built specifically to address the flexibility challenges of loading, unloading, and sorting in modern manufacturing environments. The robot made its first public appearance at the OPPO Technology Launch and Supply Chain Expo, where it emerged as the centerpiece of the exhibition's industrial humanoid section and demonstrated a full cycle of box unstacking and palletizing on site.
Targeting Real Manufacturing Pain Points
The Cruzr Y1 is designed around problems that have long limited traditional factory automation. Conventional automated systems tend to halt over slight material misalignment, require lengthy changeover cycles when a task changes, and struggle to perform more than a single fixed operation. By contrast, the Cruzr Y1 is engineered to handle real world complexities such as shifting boxes and misaligned pallets, using three dimensional vision and embodied intelligence decision making to recognize objects and adjust its actions dynamically. This allows it to manage disordered working environments that would stop a rigid, single purpose machine.
Domestic Chips and a Proprietary Software Stack
On the technology front, the robot runs on domestic Digua S100P and S600 series computing chips, a detail that carries strategic weight given the wider industry push to reduce reliance on foreign silicon. The Cruzr Y1 is built on a proprietary hardware architecture and the ROSA software system, and it integrates a Vision Language Action (VLA) algorithm. The VLA approach connects what the robot sees and understands about a task directly to the physical actions it takes, allowing it to interpret instructions and adapt to changing conditions rather than following a fixed script. Together, these elements form a self developed technology stack that spans from core components to scenario specific algorithms.
Mobility, Endurance, and Safety
In terms of mobility, the Cruzr Y1 features 360 degree omnidirectional wheels and a vertical lifting module, allowing it to navigate tight workshop spaces and adjust its working height with agility. Its arms use integrated harmonic joint modules with torque sensors, balancing precision against payload capacity. A multi sensor network that includes light detection and ranging (LiDAR) units and depth cameras embedded in the head, wrists, and chassis creates a full 360 degree perceptual field, enabling the robot to automatically slow or halt when obstacles appear.
Endurance has clearly been a design priority. A high capacity lithium battery delivers more than four hours of operation at full load, and the system supports both automatic charging and rapid battery swapping. That combination is aimed squarely at factories that run around the clock, where a robot that cannot sustain continuous shift work offers limited value.
An Open Ecosystem for Integration
UBTech is opening up its full stack technology ecosystem alongside the hardware launch. The company provides a complete suite of software development kits, vision recognition tools, and motion control development interfaces, together with a multi machine scheduling platform. This system is designed to integrate with existing factory manufacturing infrastructure, facilitating the secondary development of customized production line solutions. The strategy suggests that UBTech intends to compete not only on the capability of a single robot but on the ease with which fleets of robots can be coordinated and adapted to specific production lines.
A Distinct Product in a Crowded Lineup
The Cruzr Y1 is a separate product from the consumer oriented humanoid robots that UBTech has recently promoted for home use. Where those machines emphasize companionship and interaction, the Cruzr Y1 is a purpose built industrial tool focused on material handling throughput, safety, and continuous operation. The wheeled base, the lifting torso, and the emphasis on palletizing and sorting all reflect that industrial focus.
By combining domestic computing hardware, a Vision Language Action software stack, and an open integration platform, UBTech is positioning the Cruzr Y1 as a flexible automation solution for factories seeking to move beyond the rigidity of traditional single task machines.
