DESCRIPTION
X-300 Explorer is an Industrial-Robot from Graal Tech. It is built for Surveying, Inspection. Key figures: 25 kg, 720 min runtime.
X-300 Explorer is a customisation of Graal Tech's X-300 AUV for underwater inspection and searching for objects on the seabed. It uses the short X-300 configuration, without the front variable-buoyancy cylinder, which gives up glider and profiler modes but makes the vehicle more manoeuvrable and easier to deploy and recover. An internal fibre-optic link connects the AUV's network to the control centre, giving real-time access to its CPU and Ethernet devices and letting the operator take over and fly it like an ROV; the tether is available up to 5 km long. The 2,100 mm, 25 kg vehicle is neutrally buoyant, reaches 4 knots and runs 12 hours at maximum speed on a 14.4 V, 1,200 Wh Li-ion battery. As standard it carries five cameras - one looking forward and four around the hull for a 360-degree view - plus a frontal sonar that can be tilted 90 degrees for 360-degree acoustic images inside pipes or tunnels, and a side-scan sonar, with acoustic localisation on demand.
