DESCRIPTION
BWR Torus Inspection ROV is an Industrial-Robot from Diakont. It is built for Inspection, Nuclear plant torus inspection.
Diakont's torus inspection ROV is a hybrid underwater robot for inspecting the coating of the torus (suppression pool) in boiling-water reactor nuclear plants, replacing manual visual inspection by divers. It switches between a swimming mode and a crawling mode, and built-in fans generate a vortex that holds it against the torus wall without stirring up sludge. High-definition colour pan-tilt-zoom cameras meeting VT-1 visual-examination standards record the lining, and each inspection produces real-time disposition of findings, a report and video stored for comparison at later refuelling outages. The compact robot enters through the manway hatch, its umbilical reel clamps to the catwalk, and operators control it from stations outside the radiation-controlled area; emergency retrieval means nobody needs to enter the torus.
