DESCRIPTION
Microduck is a Consumer-Robot from Pollen Robotics. It is built for Development, Entertainment, Research. Key figures: price $399, released 2026.
Microduck is a 25 cm open-source bipedal robot from Pollen Robotics and Hugging Face, sold as a $399 pre-order and designed to be playable straight out of the box and retrained by its owner. Its point is that every behaviour is a policy you can retrain yourself. The workflow is sim-to-real: behaviours are learned in a physics simulator, on your own machine or on Hugging Face Jobs, deployed to the real robot in one step, refined back in simulation, then published so the community can use them. Pollen ships a simulated twin of the robot - the same one the ducks were trained on - and a browser simulator to try before buying. Out of the box it walks with a velocity-tracking gait, sits down and stands back up on its own, kicks, dips its beak to scoop objects off the ground, gets back on its feet from flat on its back, and roller-skates when the skates are fitted. It ships in four colourways with identical hardware and software underneath. Pre-orders opened on 27 August 2026; press reported $2.6 million of sales in the first 24 hours.
