DESCRIPTION
Aerones Crawler Gen 3 is a Mobile-Robots from Aerones. It is built for Data Collection, Mapping, Inspection. Key figures: released 2025.
Crawler Gen 3 is Aerones' third-generation robot for inspecting wind turbine blades from the inside. It drives into the hollow blade from the root and records the interior, with a 3D lidar scanner that maps the structure and localises defects, a front-facing 360° 5K camera for full surface coverage and a dedicated 61 MP camera for automated defect detection in the root zone. Adaptive LED lighting gives bright, even illumination, distance-travel tracking logs exactly where each defect sits, and updated motor control keeps the crawl smooth and steady. The modular design has a longer battery life than earlier crawlers, and the robot can inspect during turbine operation or before commissioning, feeding its data into Aerones' visual inspection software. Aerones introduced it in May 2025.
