NVIDIA Isaac ROS 5.0 Ships Agent-Ready Skills to Fourteen Robotics Partners
NVIDIA released Isaac ROS 5.0 with a FoundationPose library it says tracks object pose 5.5 times faster, alongside day-one integrations from fourteen companies spanning RealSense, Intrinsic, Magna, Universal Robots and ROBOTIS.

NVIDIA's Jetson Orin Nano 2 Cuts Robot Compute Power Draw 40 Percent
NVIDIA's new Jetson Orin Nano 2 robotics computer doubles inference performance and cuts power draw 40 percent, giving drone, home-robot, and vision-AI developers frontier-class edge compute at the entry-level tier ahead of a first-half-2027 launch.

NVIDIA Alpamayo 2 Super Brings Frontier Reasoning to Robotaxis Under Open Commercial License
NVIDIA has released Alpamayo 2 Super for commercial use, delivering frontier-scale autonomous driving reasoning under the permissive OpenMDW-1.1 license managed by the Linux Foundation. The model ranks first on the LingoQA benchmark among nearly 40 evaluated models and generates five tightly coupled outputs per driving scenario, including trajectory planning and chain-of-causation traces.

SpaceX and NVIDIA Partner to Build Starmind AI1 Orbital Data Centers
SpaceX has announced an exclusive partnership with NVIDIA to develop the Starmind AI1 satellite, a spacecraft designed to process artificial intelligence workloads directly in low Earth orbit. Powered by NVIDIA's Space-1 Vera Rubin module, the system aims to deliver up to 25 times the AI performance of an H100 GPU, with prototype testing scheduled for early 2027.

Nvidia Just Became One of Naver's Biggest Shareholders, and Korea's AI Factory Got a US$10 Billion Price Tag
Naver shares jumped more than 10 percent after disclosing Nvidia will take 7.2 million new shares at KRW 204,500, a 4.5 percent stake making it a top-three shareholder. Brookfield adds up to US$9 billion as capital partner for the GAK Sejong expansion to 200 MW by 2028 on Vera Rubin and Blackwell platforms. Framed as vendor financing with equity upside and the clearest receipt yet of the sovereign-AI buildout. Robotics angle: Naver Labs’ 1784 robotics program and the AI-factory substrate for physical AI.

KAIST and Nvidia Bet That the Next Foundation Model Learns From Muscles, Not the Internet
KAIST announced on July 26 a joint center with Nvidia to develop physical AI that learns from real human motion data. The Human Physical Intelligence Technology Center, co-directed by wearable-robot expert Kong Kyoung-chul and bio-robot expert Kim Jung, will build a Human Motion Foundation Model that predicts and generates human movement, with applications spanning wearable robots, humanoids, rehabilitation, and digital healthcare. It is the second KAIST-Nvidia institution announced in three days, and its raw material is a data asset that internet-trained models cannot replicate.

A Humanoid Was Asked to Change a Light Bulb. NVIDIA's Flagship AI Tied a Robot Doing Nothing At All.
A new open benchmark called Fiatlux puts a Unitree G1 humanoid through climbing a ladder and replacing an overhead light bulb in one continuous episode. NVIDIA's flagship GR00T N1.7 model scored statistically the same as a policy that does nothing, and even expert human teleoperation could not complete the climbing subtasks, pointing to whole-body control, not AI reasoning, as the real bottleneck.

Nearly 30 Robotaxi Companies Now Build on NVIDIA's Stack
NVIDIA's own account of its automotive partnerships shows nearly 30 robotaxi and AV companies, from Uber and Waymo to Pony.ai and Tesla, now building on its compute and simulation stack as the industry consolidates around shared infrastructure ahead of a projected US$400 billion 2035 market.

Robotics Keeps Calling Things Agentic. The One Real Test of the Word Just Failed.
A 123-round experiment in fully autonomous robot skill discovery never succeeded, exposing what NVIDIA's Isaac ROS 5.0 and Skild AI's S1 don't yet do despite both shipping under the same word: agentic.

The Gulf Isn't Choosing Sides Between China and America. It's Choosing Layers.
G42 spent two years divesting from Chinese tech to protect its Nvidia chip access, yet Abu Dhabi's Stone Venture just led a funding round for a Chinese quadruped maker, and Qatar's fund backs a US humanoid rival. Gulf sovereign capital is splitting its China exposure by technology layer, not by country: chips face the same alliance discipline that reshaped G42, while finished robots move freely across both sides.

Physical AI's Big Numbers Aren't About Robots
This week's NVIDIA-AWS 2-million-GPU deal, Japan's 27,500-GPU national AI factory, and NVIDIA's own vanishing robotics revenue disclosure all get filed under "physical AI." They're three unrelated businesses operating at wildly different scales, and none of them is what actually runs inside a deployed robot today: a 15-watt edge chip or a general-purpose server processor doing sensor fusion.

Tally Passed Robotics' Toughest Safety Test. Nobody Checked If It's Actually AI.
Robotics built three real oversight tracks in 2026: UL's safety certification, ISO's robot vocabulary standard, and the EU AI Act's disclosure rule. None of them verifies whether a robot's AI claim is actually true. Tally's UL 3300 certification, NVIDIA's Jetson Orin Nano 2 launch, and Figure AI's voluntary data disclosure show why buyers, not regulators, are currently the only ones checking.
