DESCRIPTION
SERS-6 is a Mobile-Robots from Dr Robot. It is built for Exploration, Others, Space-exploration rover research and education. Key figures: 25 kg, 240 min runtime.
The SERS-6 (Space Exploration Rover System) is Dr Robot's indoor rover for simulating lunar and planetary exploration missions, built as a development platform for space-robotics research and education. Its 7075-T6 aerospace aluminium body rides on a quad swerve-drive system whose 19 cm all-terrain wheels each rotate 360 degrees with independent speed control, giving zero-radius turns, 1.5 m/s top speed, 35-degree slope capability and 23 cm ground clearance. A 6-DOF arm with brushless joints and integrated force/torque sensing reaches 50 cm, lifts 2 kg at full extension with +/-4 mm accuracy and takes a gripper, scientific-instrument mount or quick-change tools. It navigates with an OAK-D depth camera, an arm-mounted 1080p camera, a 360 x 90 degree scanning LiDAR with 30 m range, a 9-DOF IMU and wheel encoders, all processed on an NVIDIA Jetson Orin Nano under ROS 2 for path planning, obstacle avoidance and sensor-fusion position estimation, with teleoperation and optional force feedback. A 22.2 V 20 Ah Li-ion pack runs about 4 hours and fast-charges in 3, with hot-swap batteries and an optional solar interface; telemetry is loss-tolerant to mimic delayed space links, and curriculum materials, lab exercises and mission playback support teaching.
