DESCRIPTION

SOTO is an autonomous tote robot: it replaces the tugger train that shuttles small load carriers between the warehouse and the production line, and unlike a towing AGV it loads and unloads itself. Connected to the customer's ERP, MES or warehouse system it takes orders automatically, drives to the automated small-parts store, collects full totes, delivers them to the machine at its cycle time, picks the empties back up and returns them. It carries up to 24 KLTs at once — 24 of the 300 x 200 mm or 400 x 300 mm sizes, or 8 of the 600 x 400 mm — up to 20 kg each and 240 kg in total, and it can turn a container through 90 or 180 degrees on the way in. Its gripper works from 500 mm above the floor at the front (400 mm at the side) up to 1,700 mm, so it can serve racks and transfer stations at different heights, and it reads barcodes as it goes for material tracking. The machine is 2,230 mm long, 1,060 mm wide and 2,160 mm tall, and weighs 695 kg in standard configuration. An omnidirectional drive gets it through aisles as narrow as 1,650 mm at a safe 0.3 m/s, and from 2,510 mm it runs at its full 1.5 m/s; the turning circle is 3,100 mm. Safety is built for mixed traffic: certified safety components, 2D laser scanners and two 3D cameras for dynamic collision avoidance, light curtains to keep hands out of the running system, and a speed that adapts to the surroundings. Eight 25.6 V lithium-ion packs of 21 Ah give up to eight hours of work and recharge in 1.6 hours, a five-to-one duty ratio. It is rated IP 20 for clean indoor plants, certified for ISO 7 cleanrooms, and specified for 15-25 degrees C on an industrial floor flat to DIN 18202. Two touch displays and LEDs handle local interaction, and it integrates over VDA 5050 or through the Magazino Fleet Manager's REST interface to a warehouse management system.
