DESCRIPTION
Jeva is a Medical-Robots from Aubot Pty Ltd. It is built for Helping, Assistive arm for daily living tasks for people with limited upper-limb mobility. Key figures: 0.7 kg payload.
Jeva is Aubot's smartphone-controlled robot arm for people with a disability and their remote carers, designed with the Australian Quadriplegic Association and the Spinal Cord Injuries Association to be discreet, attractive and functional. The 5-degree-of-freedom arm folds neatly beside a wheelchair or on a table, can be table-mounted, has a strong hand grip, lifts 700 g and reaches 70 cm, helping with pouring drinks, eating, brushing teeth, picking items off the floor, opening doors and gates, pressing lift and pedestrian buttons and more. Its app offers Relative Motion Control, a provisionally patented 'Cube' shortcut that sends the arm to a point in space with two button presses, and recording and playback of movements demonstrated by a carer; Epson Moverio smart-glasses control was developed with support from the Transport Accident Commission. Jeva is named after Jessica Evans, one of the first people with a disability Aubot met; the company describes it as previously researched and hopes to develop it into a commercial product.
