DESCRIPTION

ExR-2 is a Mobile-Robots from ExRobotics. It is built for Inspection, Monitoring, Explosion-proof robot that autonomously inspects hazardous oil, gas and chemical sites. Key figures: 100 kg, 120 min runtime, released 2020.

The ExR-2 is ExRobotics' flagship fully autonomous inspection robot for potentially explosive gas locations, certified to IECEx and ATEX Zone 1 (II 2 G Ex db eb ib mb qb IIB T4 Gb) for -40 to +55 C depending on options. A LiDAR and an onboard AI/ML computer give it situational awareness: it maps its surroundings, detects and avoids obstacles, replans missions and can alert the control room if it finds a person down. Customers mark points of interest on the LiDAR map and group them into missions; the robot leaves its docking station, collects images, sound and gas readings, and redocks by itself, charging on a patented Ex-certified induction charger. The tracked robot measures 950 x 660 x 670 mm, weighs 100 kg, travels at about 2 km/h over roads, slabs, pebbles, metal gratings and grass, climbs 10 cm ledges and 35-degree slopes, and has a 2 km range, 2 hours of operation (6 hours standby) and an 8-hour charge; ExRobotics designs it for 2 or 3 missions a day for at least six months without physical human intervention. A panning, zooming inspection module, drive camera, microphone, LED lighting and 4G/LTE come as standard, with options including a thermal camera, extra cameras, an elevating mast, acoustic leak detection and up to two gas detectors in its cargo hold. Forty ExR-2 robots have been deployed since 2021, and in 2023 they drove 860 km and performed 6,890 missions, according to the company.
