DESCRIPTION
Exacure is a Medical-Robots from BEC Robotics. It is built for Medical-Assistance.
Exacure is BEC Robotics' modular robotic patient-positioning platform for particle therapy, boron neutron capture therapy (BNCT) and advanced radiation therapy, and BEC describes it as the first certified patient-positioning system for BNCT. It combines robotic patient positioning, treatment-room controls, imaging integration and tracking in one architecture that can be configured to each facility's clinical workflow and layout. Its core, Exa move, is based on KUKA medical robot technology adapted by BEC with patient-safety enhancements. Exa control provides central operation of the positioner, room equipment, safety interlocks and third-party interfaces; Exa track measures patient position optically at the treatment isocentre and compensates mechanical deviations in real time; Exa shield adds shielding and robot modifications for neutron environments; Exa dock swaps couches, chairs and QA equipment; Exa chair supports seated treatment with removable carbon parts; and Exa view integrates third-party imaging. BEC has worked on radiotherapy and particle-therapy projects since 2005.
