DESCRIPTION
Tele-Robotic Diagnostics System is a Collaborative-Robot from ViTachyon Robotics. It is built for Medical-Assistance, Inspection, Remote. Key figures: 6 degrees of freedom.
The Tele-Robotic Diagnostics System from ViTachyon Robotics lets a radiologist carry out an ultrasound scan on a patient in another location. A Patient Side Robotic Unit (PSRU), a collaborative robot arm fitted with a probe holder, holds the ultrasound probe against the patient, while the radiologist moves a Doctor Side Haptic Unit and watches the live ultrasound image. The probe can be manipulated in six degrees of freedom. The haptic unit reflects contact forces back to the radiologist so that the feel of a bedside examination is kept, and a secure telemetry subsystem carries the control commands and imaging between the two sites. The company describes its role as building the teleoperation and control stack that turns the clinician's hand motion into stable probe motion. A working prototype was demonstrated in May 2024. In December 2025 the system was trialled across several locations on the AIIMS New Delhi campus, and it was then demonstrated over long distance with the clinician at AIIMS New Delhi and the patient at India's Maitri research station in Antarctica, covering B-mode scans (abdominal, musculoskeletal, thyroid and soft tissue) and Doppler workflows. The site states it is not yet for commercial sale or clinical use.
