DESCRIPTION
Pulsar is a Medical-Robots from Articulus Surgical. It is built for Material-Handling, Medical-Assistance, Surgery.
Pulsar is the flagship surgical robot from Articulus Surgical, intended for minimally invasive abdominal and pelvic soft-tissue surgery. Instead of one large central robot, it uses compact, modular bedside carts, each carrying an articulated robotic arm that holds a laparoscopic instrument or camera, positioned around a standard operating table. The company designs Pulsar to fit existing laparoscopic operating rooms in Indian hospitals, including Tier 2 and Tier 3 hospitals, without major infrastructure changes. It says the system is compatible with existing endoscopes, imaging systems and energy devices. The maker's renders show wheeled carts with a handle, emergency-stop button and control panel, and multi-jointed arms ending in instrument holders. Pulsar is part of an ecosystem with Nebula, a robotic surgery training simulator, and Galaxi, a robot for laparoscopic visualisation, so surgeons can train before operating. The first fully functional Pulsar was operational in 2024, when CDSCO granted an MD-13 test licence. The maker states that Pulsar has not yet undergone animal or human trials and is not approved by CDSCO or the FDA for clinical use.
