DESCRIPTION

ROBIO EX is a Medical-Robots from Perfint Healthcare. It is built for Guidance, Medical-Assistance, Surgery. Key figures: 5 degrees of freedom.

ROBIO EX is a CT and PET-CT guided robotic positioning system from Perfint Healthcare for interventional radiology. It aligns a needle guide along a planned path so that clinicians can place biopsy needles, fine-needle aspiration needles, drainage catheters, pain-management needles and ablation probes in the chest and abdomen. The mobile unit is rolled onto a floor panel beside the scanner table and registers itself at the push of a button using Perfint's InstaReg technology. The clinician scrolls to the desired image slice, clicks the target and the skin entry point, chooses the needle length and confirms a trajectory that avoids vital organs. The five-axis robotic arm (X, Y, Z, A and B) with sub-millimetre and sub-degree accuracy then positions the guide, and the clinician advances the needle by hand. A check scan overlays the planned trajectory on the needle, and the software generates a procedure report. Because it supports orbital and cranio-caudal angulation, ROBIO EX can reach deep-seated lesions, and Perfint says it reduces needle punctures, check scans, procedure time, patient pain and radiation exposure. It uses sterile needle-guide adaptors, stabilisers, holders and drapes. Perfint reports installations at AIIMS Jodhpur (Department of Nuclear Medicine) and Oncology Hospital 2 in Ho Chi Minh City (ROBIO EX V2).

FEATURES

  • CT and PET-CT guided robotic positioning system
  • Robotic arm with 5-DOF movement (X, Y, Z, A and B axes)
  • Sub-millimetre and sub-degree accuracy (maker statement)
  • InstaReg registration: roll onto the floor panel and press a button
  • Target and entry-point selection by mouse click on the CT slice
  • needle length selection
  • Software shows the trajectory to confirm it avoids vital organs
  • Clinician advances the needle manually through the probe guide
  • Check scan with planned trajectory overlaid on the needle
  • Patient reports and image registration for follow-up visits
  • Supports orbital and cranio-caudal angulation (or both) for deep-seated lesions
  • Works at different table heights
  • Applications: biopsy, FNAC, pain management, drainage and tumour ablation in thoracic and abdominal interventions
  • Sterile disposables: needle guide adaptor, needle stabiliser, needle holder, drape
  • Maker states fewer needle punctures, check scans, shorter procedures and lower radiation exposure
