DESCRIPTION
CUVIS-joint is a Medical-Robots from CUREXO. It is built for Medical-Assistance, Surgery. Key figures: 6 degrees of freedom.
CUVIS-joint is CUREXO's surgical robot for total knee arthroplasty. Before surgery its own planning software segments the patient's pre-operative CT scan into a 3D bone model, so the surgeon can choose implant size, position and alignment; CUREXO reports that the planning predicts femoral implant size correctly in 98.9% and tibial size in 100% of cases. As an open platform it supports a range of implant brands. In the operating room an optical tracking sensor registers the bone, and a 6-axis vertical articulated robotic arm with a burr cuts the planned surfaces automatically, including narrow peg holes and boxes, within a 1 mm error margin in 98% of cases and with cutting angle error below 1 degree. Surgeons can choose full-surface or extension-surface resection, check the medial and lateral gap balance in real time and change the plan during surgery. A bone-movement monitor stops cutting when the path deviates, and a restoration marker recovers the robot's position data if its marker moves.
