DESCRIPTION
The DriveMod Tugger is Cyngn's autonomous tugger for industrial hauling: a Motrec heavy-duty tugger converted into a self-driving vehicle by Cyngn's DriveMod autonomy stack. Cyngn does not build the chassis — it partners with Motrec, an established industrial vehicle manufacturer, and integrates DriveMod into their fleet. The practical argument for it is that it needs nothing added to the building. There are no magnetic strips to lay and no special infrastructure to install, so deployment is a matter of days rather than a facility retrofit. It tows up to 12,000 lb of carts at 4.5 mph autonomously, turns inside a 57-inch radius and works aisles as narrow as 55 inches, running about eight hours on a 48 V battery. It can be switched to manual mode and driven by a person whenever that is easier. Safety is layered rather than single-point: 360° 3D lidar tracks pedestrians and predicts their movement, a virtual bumper handles collision avoidance, colour-coded LEDs signal the vehicle's intent, audio cues mark turning and arrival, and multiple on-vehicle e-stops are within reach. Fleets are directed three ways — from the on-vehicle display, from the cloud Fleet Management System for mission planning, or from tablets mounted around the facility that work like elevator call buttons. Missions run programmable skills including auto-unhitch.
