DESCRIPTION
Anovo Surgical System is a Medical-Robots from Momentis Surgical. It is built for Medical-Assistance, Surgery.
The Anovo Surgical System is Momentis Surgical's compact robotic platform for minimally invasive surgery. Two miniaturised instrument arms are designed to mimic a surgeon's natural movements, with shoulder, elbow and wrist joints that give multi-planar articulation and 360-degree dexterity inside the abdomen, so the instruments can reach and work around anatomy from a single entry point. The arms are driven by a robotic control unit that weighs only about 13 lb (5.9 kg) and mounts on the operating table, and the surgeon works from an open, ergonomic console that keeps a direct line of sight to the patient and lets them see and talk to the OR team.\nAnovo was the first robotic platform for transvaginal surgery: in February 2021 the FDA granted it De Novo marketing authorization as an endoscopic instrument control system for single-site, natural-orifice, laparoscopic-assisted transvaginal benign procedures in adults - total benign hysterectomy (with or without salpingo-oophorectomy or salpingectomy), salpingectomy, oophorectomy, adnexectomy and ovarian cyst removal. Using the familiar fundus-to-cervix technique without multiple abdominal incisions, it aims to make the vaginal approach recommended by gynaecology societies more widely usable. Momentis designed it as a small, portable, open platform that works alongside existing surgical equipment and costs significantly less than conventional robotic systems, so it suits hospitals and ambulatory surgery centres.
