DESCRIPTION

TROUT is a Military from EyeROV. It is built for Material-Handling, Reconnaissance, Search-And-Rescue. Key figures: 6 degrees of freedom.

TROUT is a military-grade remotely operated vehicle (ROV) from EyeROV, built for deep-water inspection, surveillance and recovery work. It is designed, manufactured and qualified in India and was developed under the iDEX DISC 7 SPRINT challenge for the Indian armed forces. The vehicle is rated to 300 m depth, has six-degree-of-freedom manoeuvrability and a top speed of more than 3 knots, and runs on a 400 m neutrally buoyant tether. Its primary camera is a 4K H.265 IP camera with 10x optical zoom and a 60-degree field of view; a second Full HD wide-angle camera (120 degrees) tilts through 90 degrees. A 6,000-lumen lighting system and modular ballast of sixteen 250 g weights complete the vehicle, which measures 760 x 600 x 600 mm. It is flown from a ruggedised control station with a 21.5-inch sunlight-readable IP65 display, an NVIDIA GPU and a joystick, running EyeROV's i-Control Hub software. Optional payloads include imaging and side-scan sonar, a 3-DoF robotic arm, a single-function gripper, a Doppler velocity log and an ultrasonic thickness gauge. In October 2026 EyeROV delivered the first two of five TROUT systems ordered by the Indian Navy after trials under the Navy's quality-assurance directorate, DQA(N).
