DESCRIPTION
Prahasta is a Legged-Robots from Zen Technologies. It is built for Mapping, Reconnaissance, Security. Key figures: released 2024.
Prahasta is a four-legged robot developed by Zen Technologies with its subsidiary AI Turing Technologies for defence and counter-insurgency use. It is named after a warrior in the Ramayana and was introduced in July 2024 together with several other AI-based defence products from the company. The robot uses LiDAR and reinforcement learning to build real-time 3D maps of the terrain around it, which Zen says support mission planning, navigation and threat assessment. A weapon mount on its back can carry small arms in 9 mm, 5.56 mm or 7.62 mm calibres. Zen presents it as a first line of defence for commando units entering buildings during counter-insurgency operations such as the 2008 Mumbai attacks. In the launch video reported by the press, the robot climbs several flights of stairs with an assault rifle mounted, crosses obstacles up to about 16 inches (40 cm) high, jumps a small gap and rights itself after being knocked over. Zen publishes no other specifications and has not announced any orders.
