DESCRIPTION

The Jackal is a small, fast, entry-level field-robotics research platform from Clearpath Robotics, built for outdoor autonomous navigation work. It is a four-wheel-drive unmanned ground vehicle on a sturdy aluminium chassis, measuring 508 x 430 x 250 mm and weighing 17 kg while carrying up to 20 kg of payload. A high-torque 4x4 drivetrain moves it at up to 2.0 m/s, and basic usage gives about 4 hours of run time. An onboard PC ships with integrated GPS and IMU and runs ROS 2 Jazzy out of the box, so research groups can start on autonomy rather than on bring-up. The 250 x 100 x 85 mm internal bay and regulated user power rails (5 V at 5 A, 12 V at 10 A, 24 V at 20 A) make it plug-and-play compatible with a wide range of sensors, cameras and manipulators. An IP62 weatherproof casing and a -20 C to +45 C operating range let it work outdoors in the field.
