DESCRIPTION
Intelligent Shore Power Robot is a Mobile-Robots from Keman Intelligent Technology. It is built for Others, Remote. Key figures: 45 kg payload, 2500 mm reach.
Keman's Intelligent Shore Power Robot automates the job of plugging a berthed ship into the port's electricity supply, so the vessel can switch off its own generators while in port. Port crews normally drag the heavy shore-power cables and connect them by hand; the robot instead drives itself to the berth, uses vision to recognise and locate the cable and plug lowered from the ship, and grips and connects them with its multi-axis arm, working with a winch that pays out the cable. The second-generation robot rides on a tracked platform for stability and load-carrying on the quayside, builds its own map with laser and vision sensors and plans global and local paths around obstacles, and streams live video to the operator for visualised control. It is built to work in the rain and in narrow quayside areas; the maker quotes an arm payload of at least 45 kg, an arm working range of at least 2.5 m, a chassis speed of at least 0.5 m/s, and the ability to climb 5-degree slopes, cross 8 cm obstacles and 25 cm trenches.
