DESCRIPTION
Galaxea R1 is a Humanoid from Galaxea AI. It is built for Material-Handling, Research. Key figures: 10 kg payload, 24 degrees of freedom.
R1 is Galaxea's standard general mobile manipulation platform and the middle of its three-machine range. It carries 24 degrees of freedom in total — two six-degree-of-freedom arms, a single-degree-of-freedom torso and a three-degree-of-freedom vector chassis — and lifts 6 kg rated across both arms, 10 kg at maximum. The torso gives a 0 to 2 m vertical working space, the same envelope as the larger R1 Pro, so the difference between the two is arm dexterity and payload rather than reach. Perception is a 2-megapixel stereo binocular camera with optional 2-megapixel wrist cameras, calibrated together and synchronised to the millisecond, which Galaxea describes as 360-degree stereo sensing. Like the rest of the range it is sold with teleoperation — both an isomorphic rig and VR — because the platform is aimed at collecting manipulation training data as much as at performing tasks.
