CUVIS-spine navigation-based spine surgery robot

DESCRIPTION

CUVIS-spine is a Medical-Robots from CUREXO. It is built for Medical-Assistance, Surgery.

CUVIS-spine is CUREXO's spine surgery robot, which uses optical navigation and a robotic arm to guide pedicle screw placement. The surgeon can plan screw paths on a pre-operative CT and register them to intra-operative C-arm images through 2D-3D registration with automatic segmentation and vertebra labelling, or plan directly on intra-operative C-arm or O-arm scans. An optical tracking system follows the patient, the instruments and the screws in real time, and the arm moves to each target so the surgeon can make the incision, burr, tap and insert the screw through a one-step surgical tool. Force tracking shows the force rate and direction in real time to prevent skiving, the arm reaches the spine without repositioning the patient, and taking fewer images reduces radiation exposure. CUVIS-spine has Korean MFDS approval and US FDA 510(k) clearance and is sold in Korea, the USA and Australia; a second-generation system has been launched.
