DESCRIPTION

ANYmal is ANYbotics' autonomous quadruped inspection robot, built to walk industrial plants that were designed for people and collect the readings a human inspector would - without one having to be there. It is an industrial-grade machine rated IP67, ruggedised with impact protection for all-weather work. The standard pan-tilt payload is a complete inspection suite: a visual camera with 20x optical zoom, a thermal camera reading -40 to 550 degrees C without contact, an ultrasonic microphone covering 0 to 384 kHz, a 3,790 lumen spotlight for work in the dark, and a lidar scanner. The pan-tilt unit swings +/-90 degrees vertically and +/-165 degrees horizontally. A further 10 kg of payload is available for custom sensors, including acoustic imagers for gas leaks and partial discharge, and up to two gas concentration sensors. Navigation uses a 360-degree lidar with six depth cameras and two optical teleoperation cameras, running on two 8th-generation six-core Intel i7 processors on board. It walks at 0.75 m/s and covers about 2 km per charge, taking open grated stairs, crawling into low spaces and handling wet or uneven ground. At low battery it docks and recharges itself - 90 minutes of running, 70 percent back in 100 minutes, full in three hours - and its range extends by placing further docking stations along a route. The hardware is safety-centric and FCC, CE and Anatel compliant, with a hardware emergency stop, a warning light, safety handles for carrying and a ruggedised tablet for control. Collected data feeds ANYbotics' Data Navigator platform.
