A1 X is Galaxea's lightweight six-axis arm and the one fitted to the R1 Lite platform, so it is designed as much for being carried as for standing still. It weighs 4.2 kg itself, handles 3 kg continuously and 5 kg at maximum, and repeats to a tenth of a millimetre. The design emphasis is on low inertia and a compact wrist: the end joint is spherical, imitating the articulation of a human wrist, which Galaxea argues gives smoother trajectories and more usable data when a human is teleoperating it. The compact, light end also means a wide operating range and the ability to work in tight spaces. The company markets it for development, data collection, education and competition use.
