The difference is how it senses contact. Where Torobo has a torque sensor in every joint, Toala infers torque from motor current using a disturbance observer. That is less precise, but enough to stop on contact and to run simple impedance control — so the robot still yields rather than pushing blindly. It is listed among the maker's legacy products, introduced alongside the 2022 Torobo.
