DESCRIPTION
Yunior is a Medical-Robots from Android Technics. It is built for Medical-Assistance, Rehabilitation. Key figures: 2 degrees of freedom.
Yunior (Junior) is Android Technics' hand-exoskeleton complex with external program control and biofeedback for the rehabilitation and habilitation of children with hand motor disorders, for example from cerebral palsy, stroke, injuries or surgery. The child sits in an adjustable chair with both hands in powered exoskeleton modules mounted on a mobile stand with a display and laptop; brain-computer interface and other techniques let the child's own intention or effort command the hand movements, and a virtual environment can be used to raise engagement and motivation. Clinical trials included children from six years old and it is recommended from age seven.\nThe complex has two exoskeleton hand modules with two degrees of freedom in the horizontal plane and a 0-100 degree range; each 'Hand' module measures 175 x 115 x 96 mm and weighs no more than 2.5 kg, and fully opens and closes a relaxed hand in 0.5 to 3 seconds. It runs for at least 45 minutes continuously, connects its control and power unit to a laptop by USB and draws no more than 550 VA from 230 V mains.
