The XO-450 is XOCEAN's uncrewed surface vessel (USV), a roughly 4.5 m composite wave-piercing catamaran that collects ocean survey data while its pilots and data analysts stay onshore, connected over satellite. Built at XOCEAN's technical centre in Ireland and operated by the company as a data-as-a-service fleet, it carries industrial-grade multibeam echosounder (MBES), sub-bottom profiler, side-scan sonar, magnetometer and USBL payloads for offshore wind, cable route, carbon-storage and hydrographic surveys. A hybrid power system pairs two Torqeedo Cruise 2.0 electric pod drives and a Torqeedo lithium-ion battery with a small micro-generator and deck solar panels, plus bow thrusters for station keeping, giving a range of about 1,500 nautical miles and up to 18 days at sea running 24/7 at around 4 knots, with a fraction of the emissions of a crewed survey ship. The vessels hold MCA Category 0 certification for full over-the-horizon operation and are monitored and tuned in real time through XOCEAN's cloud CyberDeck.
