The TSV-X (terrestrial scouting vehicle) is DFKI Industrials' lighter leg-wheel hybrid rover for scouting in difficult outdoor environments. Four star-shaped leg-wheels driven by 80 W Faulhaber motors carry it over logs, rubble and rails, and it is teleoperated over a video link. It weighs 9.5 kg, measures 95 x 54 x 42 cm, carries 3 kg of payload and reaches 2 m/s with a 5 km range on a 10 Ah, 30 V lithium-polymer battery, using an 868 MHz ISM-band link for control and telemetry. Optional zoom and infrared cameras can be fitted. For more sensors, more computing and autonomous waypoint navigation, DFKI Industrials offers the TMV-X and TMV-A-X.
