DESCRIPTION
SqUID is a Mobile-Robots from BionicHIVE. It is built for Material-Handling, Inventory, Picking. Key figures: 44 kg, 14.5 kg payload.
SqUID is BionicHIVE's autonomous warehouse picking and replenishment robot, deployed as a synchronised fleet with three-dimensional movement. The robots travel on the ground alongside people and other equipment and, after a simple installation of rails, move vertically on any existing shelving rack to place and retrieve boxes from floor to ceiling and deliver them anywhere in the facility, so a warehouse built for human pickers can be automated without new racks, new boxes or a new workflow. Moving on racks rather than the floor relieves floor traffic, and storage can use every shelf up to the ceiling. An AI fleet engine coordinates the robots and integrates with any WMS or ERP. Each robot weighs 44 kg, carries boxes of up to 32 lb (about 14.5 kg) and up to 24 x 16 x 24 in, travels at 4.5 km/h on the ground and 1.9 km/h on rails, can retrieve boxes stored double or triple deep, and runs on swappable batteries. It has been tested in refrigerated environments, can receive boxes from a pallet together with a depalletizer, and is sold as a facility-wide solution for purchase or lease rather than as single robots. The name comes from the squid, an animal known for being hard-working, smart and agile.
