DESCRIPTION

ROBO Square is an Industrial-Robot from Nakanishi Metal Works (NKC). It is built for Heavy-Item-Handling, Loading, Pick-and-place. Key figures: 2350 kg, 30 kg payload, 2100 mm reach, 6 degrees of freedom.

ROBO Square is NKC's autonomous devanning robot: a six-axis industrial arm on a self-driving AGV that drives to a container or truck, unloads cartons of up to 30 kg and moves deeper into the container until it is empty. Because it comes and goes on its own, it can work at truck berths shared with other companies, at loading points that change through the day, in aisles and in semi-outdoor areas where fixed equipment cannot be installed. An AI camera captures 3D data of the load, finds each carton's position without size registration, and while picking one box already locates the corner of the next to cut retries. A suction hand pulls tightly packed boxes out from the side, from the top of the stack down to the floor, and can take two at once. NKC staff map the warehouse and teach the route, so the customer has no setup work. The vertical articulated arm reaches 2,100 mm with +/-0.06 mm repeatability. The unit is 1,745 x 973 mm and 1,035 mm tall to the AGV deck, weighs 2,350 kg (AGV 1,750 kg + robot 600 kg), drives at up to 3.6 km/h and stops to +/-10 mm. The AGV runs on a 24 V / 201 Ah lead battery while the arm takes 200 V AC and compressed air from the site.
