DESCRIPTION

ROBO Carry Rack is an Industrial-Robot from Nakanishi Metal Works (NKC). It is built for Intralogistics, Material-Handling, Pallet-Transportation. Key figures: 400 kg, 1000 kg payload.

ROBO Carry Rack is NKC's high-density storage system built around a low-profile AGV that runs both inside the rack and across the warehouse floor. Combined with a lifter and fixed shelving that stacks 1-tonne loads up to 12 m high, it automates receiving, storage, sorting and delivery to work areas without re-palletising and without forklifts. NKC says it is the only such AGV that runs both in and out of the racks. Each rack level can have its own layout and height, so racks fit L-shaped buildings, sloped roofs and linked buildings that stacker cranes leave empty. The AGVs drive forward, backward, sideways and spin in place, also handle wrapping, labelling, weighing and empty-pallet runs, return home to charge, and cover for one another if one fails. They drive down to a ground-level maintenance area so no one works at height, and overnight they re-sort stock for the next day's shipments. A PC controls the fleet and can link to other equipment through PLCs. The AGV measures 1,540 x 990 x 226 mm, weighs 400 kg and comes in 500 kg and 1,000 kg versions, travelling at 60 m/min (500 kg) or 35 m/min (1,000 kg) and stopping to +/-10 mm. It navigates by magnetic tape, guide bars and QR codes, lifts 42 mm, and runs on lithium-ion batteries with automatic charging.
