DESCRIPTION

Reachy Mini is an Educational-Robots from Pollen Robotics. It is built for Entertainment, Research, Education. Key figures: 1.5 kg, price $399–$499, released 2025.

Reachy Mini is a small, expressive open-source robot from Pollen Robotics and Hugging Face, built for human interaction, creative coding and AI experimentation from a desk. It stands 28 cm tall in use and about 23 cm in sleep mode, measures 16 cm wide and weighs 1.5 kg. It expresses itself through movement rather than a screen: a motorised head with six degrees of freedom, full body rotation and two animated antennas. A wide-angle camera, four microphones and a 5 W speaker give it audio-visual interaction, so it can hold AI-powered conversations, follow a hand in real time or answer with gestures. It ships as a kit and takes about two hours to assemble. Two versions are sold. Reachy Mini Lite, at $399, is tethered over USB and uses a Mac or PC as its brain. The wireless Reachy Mini, at $499, adds an on-board Raspberry Pi Compute Module 4, Wi-Fi, a battery and an accelerometer; both have the same motion capabilities. It is programmed in Python through an open-source SDK, with a simulation SDK for developing before the robot arrives, and behaviours are shared through the Hugging Face hub, where the app ecosystem lists more than 60 one-click apps. Hardware, software and simulation environments are all open source.
