DESCRIPTION

PreciseFlex 400 is a Collaborative-Robot from Brooks Automation. It is built for Pick-and-place, Research, Lab sample and microplate handling, instrument loading and unloading. Key figures: 20 kg, 0.5 kg payload, 656 mm reach, 4 degrees of freedom.

The PreciseFlex 400 is Brooks' collaborative robot for bench-top laboratory automation, built for applications where throughput, work volume, ease of use and safety matter. Brooks says it has been adopted by nearly every major life-science and lab-automation company and is designed into many OEM instruments, handling SBS/microtiter plates in portrait or landscape, tubes and vials. It is a four-axis robot with horizontally articulated main axes on a tall Z column (400, 750 or 1,160 mm vertical reach), giving a cylindrical work envelope that reaches into instruments, hotels and stacks while keeping the footprint small. Horizontal reach is 500.8 mm standard or 656.5 mm extended, and an optional collaborative linear rail adds 1.0-2.0 m of travel. It carries 0.5 kg with the factory-fitted IntelliGuide s23 or v23 gripper, moves at up to 500 mm/s and repeats to +/-0.09 mm. Low gear ratios, back-drivable axes and low moving mass keep collision forces low, and near-zero-friction free mode makes teaching fast; Auto-Teach with IntelliGuide Vision updates locations automatically. The controller is embedded, it draws 100-175 W, weighs 20-35 kg depending on reach and column height, and is controlled from scheduling software through the TCS API or programmed in Guidance Development Studio.
