DESCRIPTION
Ortez-1 is a Medical-Robots from Android Technics. It is built for Medical-Assistance, Rehabilitation. Key figures: 1 degrees of freedom.
Ortez-1 (Orthosis-1) is Android Technics' robotic complex for restoring hand function after stroke or with post-traumatic or post-operative paresis of the hands of any severity. The patient sits in a reclining treatment chair with the affected hand in a powered hand exoskeleton; a brain-computer interface records EEG through a cap, and when the patient imagines opening the hand the exoskeleton opens it, giving proprioceptive and tactile feedback for that imagined movement. It also performs functionally useful squeezing and unclenching movements, and supports passive and passive-active rehabilitation sessions of about 45 minutes, which the maker says promote neuroplasticity and the forming of new neural networks.\nThe hand exoskeleton has one degree of freedom in the vertical plane with a 0-75 degree range, measures 180 x 225 x 120 mm, weighs 3 kg and fully opens and closes a relaxed hand in 0.5 to 3 seconds; its drive turns at 0 to 260 degrees per second with kinematic accuracy of 6 arc-minutes or better. The complex runs for at least 45 minutes continuously, connects over 10/100 Ethernet, draws no more than 550 W from 220 V mains and is registered as a medical device in Russia (RZN 2023/19818, March 2023).
