DESCRIPTION

The X-Head 1 is Noetix Robotics' latest bionic head, and the engineering brief was compression rather than novelty — a redesigned compact drive architecture shrinks the unit by roughly 30% against the previous generation while holding the same degrees of freedom, and a reworked neck mechanism cuts volume again while smoothing motion and reducing physical interference. It ships in three trims that differ only in facial articulation: Lite with 18 driven joints, the standard version with 24, and Ultra with 30, the extra motion going into brows, mouth and cheeks. All three carry three neck degrees of freedom moving 60° in pitch, 60° in roll and 80° in yaw. The face is what the product is for. Platinum silicone skin over wire-and-linkage drive gives what Noetix calls wax-figure realism, with facial proportions, contours and skin texture modelled by aesthetic designers and finished with hand-painted makeup on the high-specification option. Interaction runs on a large language model for intent recognition and emotional expression, combined with Audio2Face and 3D+D2P lip generation for speech-to-mouth synchronisation, real-time gaze following that tracks the user during conversation, and skill, action and emotion libraries the robot calls on according to intent. It can also read and mimic a user's facial movements. Compute is an RK3588 running Android 12 with 4 GB of memory and 32 GB of storage, and an EDU variant adds an SDK and demos for developers.

FEATURES

  • Three trims by facial articulation — Lite 18 DoF (brows 2, eyes 6, mouth 7, neck 3), standard 24 DoF (brows 4, eyes 6, mouth 11, neck 3) and Ultra 30 DoF (brows 8, eyes 6, cheeks 2, mouth 11, neck 3)
  • roughly 30% smaller than the previous generation through a compact drive architecture, with a redesigned neck for smoother motion and less physical interference
  • neck moves 60° pitch, 60° roll and 80° yaw
  • platinum silicone skin on wire and linkage drive for wax-figure realism, with hand-painted high-specification makeup available
  • LLM-based voice interaction giving intent recognition, semantic understanding and emotional expression
  • Audio2Face and 3D+D2P real-time lip generation for speech and mouth synchronisation
  • dynamic gaze following that tracks the user during conversation
  • skill, action and emotion libraries invoked by user intent
  • facial expression understanding and mimicry
  • RK3588 running Android 12 with 4 GB RAM and 32 GB storage
  • linear four-microphone array and a base-mounted RGB camera on standard and Ultra
  • 2.4/5 GHz 802.11 b/g/n wireless with OTA updates
  • EDU version with SDK, demos and documentation for secondary development
  • available in white, black and custom colours, with IP-character and brand customisation offered.
  • Official pricing: RMB 79,000 Lite, RMB 99,000 standard, RMB 129,000 Ultra
  • EDU version available on any trim for RMB 30,000 extra, supporting secondary development with SDK and demos
  • Ultra adds hand-painted, hand-sculpted couture makeup for higher realism
