DESCRIPTION

Mitra is a Humanoid from Invento Robotics. It is built for Customer-Service, Entertainment, Marketing. Key figures: released 2017.

Mitra is a wheeled humanoid service robot made by Invento Robotics in Bengaluru. It stands about five feet tall, has a white humanoid body with an expressive face and articulated arms, and carries a touchscreen tablet on its chest. It moves on a wheeled base and is designed to greet visitors, answer questions by voice and hand over to applications on its chest screen. The robot recognises faces and can remember the names of people it has met, holds voice conversations and connects to customer-relationship software, so it can be used for tasks such as guiding customers or helping with bank account opening. In hospitals during the COVID-19 pandemic it moved through wards on its own and used its cameras and chest screen for video calls between patients, families and doctors. Mitra was launched at the Global Entrepreneurship Summit 2017 in Hyderabad. It has been used in banks, retail stores, hotels, malls, airports, cinemas, weddings and corporate events; Yatharth Hospital in Noida placed two units at its entrance and in its ICU. Invento now mainly rents Mitra out for trade shows and events.
