DESCRIPTION
MORK is a Mobile-Robots from Indy Associates. It is built for Customer-Service, Guiding, Reception. Key figures: 420 min runtime, released 2016.
MORK is Indy Associates' remote-operated (telexistence) robot, an 80 cm model that has been developed since 2016. An operator connects over the internet, from home, a distant office or even another country, and speaks to customers through the robot, which makes it suited to contactless guidance and to new ways of working remotely. It has been used as a guide at Haneda Airport counters, at a JAL trial where it was nicknamed 'JET', and for remote customer service at show homes. Operators choose one of three controls: a VR controller, a game controller or a smartphone app. Its mobile base reaches 1.4 m/s so it can keep pace with a walking customer, and its head and arms move. A camera sits in the eyes, speakers behind the chest slits and a choice of microphones, while a separate around-view camera watches front, back and sides for safe driving. A full charge lasts about 7 hours, on a lithium or a lead battery, and colours and options are customised per order.
