DESCRIPTION
The IRMO M1 Pro is one trim of the M1, which IRMO markets as the world's first vision-based knee exoskeleton. Rather than reacting to the wearer's movement alone, it looks where the wearer is going: a built-in camera and LiDAR scan the ground ahead and the EPA system - Exteroception, Proprioception and Action - adjusts assistance before each step. The Pro steps up to a carbon-fibre and aluminium-alloy build - the 2 kg 'ultra-light carbon fibre' design the brochure leads on - with a 1000 W peak motor, 18 N·m peak torque and eight hours of battery life. The assistance claims are a 45 per cent knee assist and up to a 60 per cent reduction in knee impact, delivered through IRMO's Flexmo dynamically balanced joint, which is built on variable-stiffness actuation. Four modes - Eco, Turbo, Training and Rest - are selected with one tap or chosen automatically for the activity, and a companion app handles motion tracking and tuning. The unit measures 420 x 102 x 55 mm deployed and folds to 287 x 189 x 55 mm. It carries a 9-axis IMU, LiDAR with a 10 m detection range and single-side camera, 5 m² coverage, and is rated IP54 for ingress, working from 0 to 40 degrees C with a -20 to 60 degrees C limit. IRMO aims it at hiking and trekking, commuting, everyday activity, fitness training and load carrying, rather than at clinical rehabilitation.
