AvatarMind iPal 2.0 (i-Bao 2.0) humanoid companion robot

DESCRIPTION

iPal 2.0 is a Consumer-Robot from AvatarMind. It is built for Companion, Entertainment, Guiding. Key figures: 12.5 kg, 480 min runtime, 14 degrees of freedom.

The iPal 2.0 (i-Bao 2.0) is AvatarMind's upgraded humanoid companion robot, a 1.03 m, 12.5 kg robot with a human-like head and two arms, a 10.1-inch touchscreen on its chest and a wheeled base. It has 14 degrees of freedom - two in the neck, five in each arm and two in the base for driving and turning - and white LED facial expressions, and comes in three colours. AvatarMind says the new version improves on the first iPal's vision, voice and touch interaction and adapts to more settings.\nIt senses its surroundings with three infrared and five ultrasonic distance sensors, five touch sensors and a 1.3-megapixel camera, and its software covers natural-language understanding, face, object and gesture recognition, self-learning and movement control, in nine languages, with large-language-model chat. A six-core main processor is supported by seven MCUs and three DSPs. The robot connects over dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2 and USB OTG, and a back-office system syncs faces, maps, voice and media and lets staff manage robots, while a home-grown graphical editor lets users program its expressions, movements and sounds and several robots can be controlled together. A small 18 V 6.6 Ah battery gives 2 to 4 hours and a large 13.2 Ah battery 8 hours or more. AvatarMind aims it at kindergartens and children's learning and play, senior companionship and care, and greeting and informing visitors in shops, banks and other public spaces.
