ISE Explorer modular autonomous underwater vehicle (1,000 / 3,000 / 6,000 m)

DESCRIPTION

Explorer AUV is a Research-Robots from International Submarine Engineering. It is built for Exploration, Research, Inspection. Key figures: 620 kg, 1440 min runtime.

The Explorer is ISE's modular, long-range autonomous underwater vehicle, built for mine countermeasures, route and hydrographic survey, pipeline and cable inspection, environmental monitoring and ocean research. It comes in 1,000 m, 3,000 m and 6,000 m depth ratings, and its swappable payload section carries sensors such as multibeam echosounders, side-scan and synthetic aperture sonar, sub-bottom profilers, laser scanners, cameras, magnetometers and CTD and chemical sensors; ISE says it collects IHO-compliant survey data at 750 to 1,100 km per week of ship time. Depending on its battery modules and payloads it is 4.5 to 7.5 m long, weighs 620 to 1,700 kg, carries 24 to 139 kWh of lithium-ion energy and covers 160 to 600 km in 24 to 115 hours at survey speeds of 0.75 to 2.5 m/s, recharging in under three hours. A 5 m turning radius, 60-degree dive and ascent angles and terrain following from 1.5 m altitude support precise survey lines, and ISE's ACE autonomy software with a backseat-driver interface, inertial and Doppler navigation and obstacle-avoidance sonar run it; it has proven itself on long-range under-ice missions and can dock underwater for charging and data offload.
