DESCRIPTION

CubeRover is a Mobile-Robots from Astrobotic Technology. It is built for Exploration, Lunar surface mobility for small science payloads. Key figures: 4 kg.

CubeRover is Astrobotic's modular, ultra-lightweight lunar rover that gives scientific instruments and other payloads affordable mobility on the Moon. As light as 4 kg, it was the first commercial rover backed by NASA's Tipping Point programme and is designed to be lighter than any other rover, cutting flight costs; it can travel multiple kilometres across the lunar surface and communicate over long range, with custom mapping and visualisation tools for planning and monitoring manoeuvres. It comes in popular 2U, 4U and 6U sizes and is customised per mission - rover and wheel materials, power source, payload volume, software and communications, and thermal control - with an engineering unit available and a flight-qualified rover ready about 15 months after order. Astrobotic also offers a wireless charging system designed to survive the lunar night, and backs the design with more than USD 20 million in NASA contracts.
