DESCRIPTION

AirRob is an Industrial-Robot from Libiao Robotics. It is built for Intralogistics, Picking, Tote storage and retrieval (goods-to-person). Key figures: released 2023.

AirRob is Libiao Robotics' robot tote-handling system, launched in 2023 and given a 2025 RBR50 innovation award, which brings automation to high-density tote storage. The AirRob robot runs on two rails mounted on one side of standard racks, so it can be installed on most types of racks and totes; it picks and stores totes from racks both in front of and behind it (twin-directional picking), works in aisles as narrow as 0.85 m with gaps of only 10-30 mm between totes, and needs no downtime to recharge. One AirRob picks and stores about 150 totes per hour, and several can share an aisle. AirRob hands totes over to Floorbot mobile robots anywhere under the racks, which carry them to and from workstations; each workstation handles 600 inbound and 600 outbound totes per hour, and a system can exceed 20,000 totes per hour. Floorbots need no special floor treatment and run 3 hours on a 4-minute charge, AirRob operates from -20 to 50 C, and Libiao says each aisle draws less power than a microwave oven. It is used for standardised tote turnover in clothing, retail, electronics and cross-border e-commerce warehouses.
