XENA 5.0 is a remote-controlled tracked firefighting robot from Club First Robotics that drives into high-heat, smoke-filled or hazardous areas and attacks the fire from a roof-mounted water and foam monitor, keeping firefighters at a safe distance. It is built on the company's XENA all-terrain tracked platform. The robot runs on heavy-duty iron-core rubber tracks driven by BLDC motors, with a gyro-based straight-line and angle-following algorithm and individual differential gears for each drive. A single radio remote with about 300 m range controls both the vehicle and the monitor. The monitor delivers 1,800 to 3,000 litres per minute at up to 10 kg/cm2 in jet or fog mode, throws water up to 90 m and traverses 360 degrees, while a PTZ thermal camera provides automatic fire-point detection and alarms. The maker gives a top speed of 8 km/h, a 48 V 72 Ah battery for 5 to 6 hours of operation, a total weight of 240 kg and a footprint that fits a 1,280 x 860 x 650 mm box. It climbs slopes up to 45 degrees and stairs up to 30 degrees and can drag charged hose lines.
