BESCHREIBUNG

The sudo R1 is a fully integrated robot system — sudo's own hardware and software together — built around a manipulation-centric foundation model aimed squarely at object picking. What makes it unusual is how it was trained: entirely on simulation data, with zero real-world demonstrations, yet sudo reports roughly 98% first-attempt success and close to 100% with retries, demonstrated in a 60-minute uncut evaluation rather than cherry-picked clips. Its generalisation claim covers the awkward end of the object spectrum — rigid and deformable, opaque and transparent, matte and reflective — which is precisely where conventional vision-based grasping degrades. The hardware is a dual-arm mobile manipulator standing 1,634.5 mm with a 615 mm torso lift, giving it a working range from bin level to shelf height, on a compact 780 by 520 mm base. Each arm has seven degrees of freedom and carries 5 kg, with two more in the torso. Perception is dense: ten to sixteen cameras and four LiDARs. A 48 V 52 Ah pack gives about two hours per charge.

FUNKTIONEN

  • Fully integrated system with sudo's own hardware and software, powered by a manipulation-centric foundation model focused on object picking
  • trained on simulation data alone with zero real-world demonstrations
  • approximately 98% first-attempt grasp success and nearly 100% with retries, shown in a 60-minute uncut continuous evaluation
  • strong zero-shot generalisation across rigid and deformable, opaque and transparent, matte and reflective objects
  • 1,634.5 mm standard posture height with 615 mm of torso lift
  • twin 7-degree-of-freedom arms carrying 5 kg each, plus 2 degrees of freedom in the torso
  • 10 to 16 cameras with 4 LiDARs
  • 48 V 52 Ah battery for roughly 2 hours per charge
  • compact 780 x 520 mm base
  • backed by a proprietary simulation engine, large-scale simulation data and a developer tool suite.
