VinMotion Motion 1

Motion 1 is Vietnam's first homegrown humanoid robot, built by VinMotion, the robotics arm of Vingroup. It was shown publicly at Vingroup's 32nd anniversary in August 2025, walking, waving and dancing in synchrony with others of its kind — a demonstration that mattered less for the dancing than for what it said about balance and coordinated control. The robot is designed for ordinary factory work rather than spectacle: carrying parts, visual inspection and simple assembly support. Its first posting is inside Vingroup itself, at the VinFast electric-vehicle plants, moving components and handling repetitive tasks. What distinguishes VinMotion's approach is that Motion 1 is not sold as an autonomous machine. It runs semi-autonomously with a human in the loop: an operator supervises remotely and steps in when needed, and the corrections feed back as training data, so the robot's independence grows with use rather than being claimed up front. The hardware was developed in-house, with the company reporting a first prototype in three months and five prototype versions built and tested since. VinMotion publishes no dimensions, weight or joint count for it.
