Sold by the Shenzhen maker as the 'Tosima W5 Dual Direction Auto-Spray Window Cleaner Robot', the W5 belongs to Tosima's line of window cleaners. It holds itself to vertical glass by suction and moves across the pane on its own, wiping as it goes. Water is sprayed in both directions of travel, and two rotating pads work in what Tosima calls a dual-circuit cleaning system. Sensors detect the window's edges and obstacles so the robot keeps to the pane. Five modes cover fast, deep, thorough, edge and spot cleaning, chosen from the included remote. Tosima's graphics give a movement speed of 11 cm/s and a cleaning rate of about two minutes per square metre. Safety relies on three layers - suction, edge detection and a safety rope. Tosima's page for the W5 is short and publishes no suction, battery or dimension figures. It is suited to windows, mirrors, glass doors and other smooth surfaces.
