TR12 is a six-axis articulated industrial robot arm made by Twara Robotics in Bengaluru. It is the larger of the company's two arms and is built on Twara's own joint actuators with harmonic gearboxes, which give smooth, backlash-free motion. According to the maker's datasheet, the arm carries up to 12 kg at the wrist, reaches 1,010 mm, repeats to within 0.1 mm and has a mechanical weight of 50 kg. The base joint turns at up to 127.5 degrees per second. It is programmed through a hybrid offline and online system with end-point trajectory control and self-collision avoidance, and operators jog it with an industrial handwheel HMI that includes a drag-and-drop scheduler. Twara positions the TR12 for handling, welding and assembly work, and shows it tending a CNC machine and in TIG/MIG welding cells. It accepts different end-of-arm tools, including the company's TGRIP soft grippers.
