Sanbot Elf is Sanbot's intelligent service robot for retail, hospitality, healthcare, education and public-service settings. About 902 mm tall on a three-omni-wheel base, it talks with visitors using seven microphones with 360-degree sound localisation, recognises people with two RGB cameras and a 3D sensor, shows content on a 10.1-inch 1080p touchscreen and a built-in laser projector, and moves its head and arms to gesture; an open API and Android SDK let developers build their own applications on its cloud platform. Touch sensors on head, body and hands, human-presence sensors, a gyroscope, an electronic compass and 15 infrared obstacle sensors keep it aware of its surroundings. The 19 kg robot travels at up to 0.8 m/s, climbs 1.5 cm steps, runs about 10 hours on its 20 Ah lithium battery (over 24 hours on standby) and returns to a wall-mounted charging pile from up to 5 m away; it connects over dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 and ZigBee, runs on ROS and comes in white, gold, red and blue.
