Mitsubishi Motors eyes mass production of humanoid robots

Mitsubishi Motors announced plans to explore mass production of humanoid robots as Japan faces a shrinking workforce. The automaker is jointly developing the robots with Highlanders, a University of Tokyo robotics startup, with a jointly built humanoid prototype already showcased. Production could begin as early as 2027 at Mitsubishi's Kyoto plant, aiming to deploy real robots on factory floors to address labor shortages.
